We encourage all students to take the ACT in April of their junior year.  This year the date is Saturday, April 12, 2014.  Students must register (without penalty) by March 7.  We will be scheduling the ZAPS ACT Prep workshop to come to NCCS again this year on a Saturday in March.  This workshop comes with plenty of great material, and the presenter is excellent, well worth the $65 fee.

Other options for ACT prep are listed below.  We will update this list as the year passes.

  • Copies of ACT's "Preparing for the ACT" booklet, are available now in the Counselor's office for any student who wants one.
  • ACT also has an online prep program, which includes practice tests, comprehensive contest review of each subtest, and a personalized diagnostic Study Path, that can be purchased for $21.95 at
  • WebsterUniversity offers one-day ACT prep workshops in November, January and March.  They are a bargain at $35, including all materials.  Register online at
  • St Louis Community College offers a Saturday ACT prep workshop (EDUC 712).  It's a non-credit community education class that cost $169.  You can register online at
  • Bob Johnson Tutoring ACT Workshops.  Saturday workshops in Ballwin and O’Fallon in September and October.  Pricey ($240) but lots of focused, personal attention.  Go to to register.
